Where We’ve Been: Linden Grove Floral’s Favourite Venues from This Past Wedding Season

What a season it’s been! From colourful garden parties to bold, elegant celebrations, we’ve had the absolute joy of flowering some of Canterbury’s most beautiful wedding venues. Each space had its own personality, and we loved creating floral designs that reflected both the setting and the couple.

Here’s a little round-up of where we’ve been lately—and what we loved most about each spot.

Waipuna Estate

This spot is all about those views. Set in the Port Hills overlooking the Canterbury Plains, Waipuna feels tucked away and peaceful—but still close to everything. We’ve loved creating colourful spring arrangements for J + D and colourful summer arrangements for S + C.

The Great Hall – Christchurch Arts Centre

Talk about drama—in the best way. The Great Hall is stunning, with soaring wooden ceilings, stained glass, and all that historic detail. We created beautiful blue, lilac and soft yellow, spring wild flowers for R + M and the weekend after classic, elegant white and green arrangements for C + D. It was a fun contrast. If you want a venue that makes a serious impression, this one’s hard to beat.

Ohinetahi

Ohinetahi is just magical. It’s one of those places that doesn’t even feel real—a heritage garden tucked away in Governors Bay, full of art, greenery, and charm. We were so lucky to get such a beautiful brief for H + J, beautiful pastel garden flowers in a mixture of white urns with a modern twist. We kept the flowers classic and elegant, white and green for L + J, garden-style florals that complemented the natural surroundings. It’s an amazing space for couples who love flowers and want something intimate and relaxed, but still incredibly elegant.

The Ilex – Christchurch Botanic Gardens

Modern, bright, and surrounded by nature—The Ilex has such a clean, fresh vibe. With all that glass and light, it's the perfect blank canvas for flowers to really pop. We did modern white and lime green flowers with just a touch of peachy pink in the bridal bouquet. The ceremony was held in the Cockayne Memorial Garden a place which held special significance to me so it was extra special setting up here. We especially love how this venue connects so beautifully to the gardens just outside—great for photos and floral moments that flow from indoors to out.

Pemberton Gardens

This garden venue has a relaxed, welcoming feeling. It’s ideal for soft, elegant florals with a bit of personality. We had two beautiful weddings here this past season and I freelanced here a couple of times, it’s a venue I know very well. We had a white and soft pink brief for B + M and a I trust you fully white Valentines wedding for L + B. This venue works beautifully with our modern romantic style.

Mount Vernon Lodge – Akaroa

A coastal favourite! Mount Vernon has that amazing hilltop vibe with ocean views and a peaceful, laid-back feel. We had a truly beautiful set up for G + C, stylish baby breath focus with complementing white flowers. It’s a dream location for a weekend celebration with your people, and a great backdrop for your ceremony.

Looking Ahead

We feel so lucky to have worked at such a variety of venues this past season— each one inspiring in its own way. Whether you're planning something intimate in the garden or a full-scale celebration in a beautiful hall full of history, we love bringing our signature style: classic and elegant, bold and colourful, modern but timeless.

If you're planning your wedding and want florals that feel like you—vibrant, thoughtful, and full of heart—we’d love to chat.
